How to identify the SPAM posts?

Spam post making systems are increased now on internet. They are not like previous spam post making systems. They are getting advanced day by day. So we have to be aware how to clearly identify the spam posts from other normal posts. This type of activities are not only affecting the Facebook, Google+ and other social networks. They are also affecting our Email accounts like Yahoo,Gmail. There is no difference. When the user click on the link comes with the spam post, and did the task, it asked to do then it will spread to your friends' Facebook wall. Like that, when you click on the link comes with the unknown email, it will send a copy of that email to people whose contact details are available in your address book. This problem not only happens in our computers, but also in your smartphones(iPhone,Galaxy, android), tablets, and some others devices which are replacing the need of computer. because they are also acting like a handheld computer.

We are not only having the responsibility to protect our account from the SPAM post making online systems/ engine. We are also have the responsibility to protect our friends, and other people accounts. Because they might be facing this kind of threat for first time. So, whenever you find news about new type of spam posts making posts/links, please share with them to let them know what is it.

Because, it spread all over the world with the helps of fools (who don't have any idea about spam posts, and how they look like). Before, spam post making systems are just posted the spam posts(only link) on our Friend's wall.  Later it started tagging our friends to a particular photo (18+,Funny,Crazy photos or videos) with a link in its description. We people are mostly attracted and interested (18+,Funny,Crazy photos or videos posts) to know what is that video or what is that picture. So, we just click the link attached with that posts to watch that interesting videos. But 98% of spam post making engines are doing this activity with photos with play button or player layout like YouTube. Initially/First time, we will consider it as a video, but we will realize that, it is not a video, and it is a picture, after clicking the play button. Then we will decide to click on the link (when we are willing to know something, that interest automatically set our mind to click that like to watch it) attached with that photo to watch that video. Finally we get into their traps.

They make those traps well by designing their interface( They use same color, They use same layout) looks like it is a Facebook system. That is their second trick to make us believe it as a good system. and we are inside the Facebook or any other social networks. That believe, tell us to move further by doing the small tasks.

Following are some sample tasks, they might ask you to do:
1. Please do all the steps in the same order
2. Click on this button to get authentication code.
3. Login to your Facebook account
4. Click on this button to verify your gender/age
5. Copy and paste the URL(Text in Address bar) of appeared browser_window, here
6. Please upload a picture, to test your internet speed

When you do the requested tasks then, they will check it whether you did it or not. If you did the all the tasks then they will show some animation to make you believe that they are processing your information.

But they are not actually processing your application. They are using that processing animation/time to wait their without moving to any other pages. Because, they are uploading the image to your Facebook or any other social networking account with that link in its description, and tagging your friends or posting it on your friends' wall(like you are posting it) or groups you have joined or wall of pages you have liked, and sometime it is making comments like us under the spam posts posted through our Facebook accounts, to make our friends believe it as true, within that processing time. But we will not notice that at that time. After that processing animation, it will take us to another website where it will say, It is 18+ video, so please do one of this task to watch it. Some of us might do to one task to watch it. They they will realize that "There is not video like that" It is Fake. But if you do that task or don't do that task, No problem. It is too late. If you do one task from that list then they will earn some money from survey filling companies or mobile tricks sending companies or mobile ringtone sending companies.

Do you know what we will earn?
- Bad name from our relations, Friends
- Lose our free time with cleaning the spam posts from our account
-anonymous calls, messages from companies( if you do mobile phone tricks/ringtone sending task)
- and some others problems

When you go back to Facebook (tab). You will see sudden log out (Facebook automatically logout your account, and ask you to login again). When you login again then you will see an warning message from Facebook. That tells you to don't do it again, and go to the activity log to clean the activities done by that spam post making engine. You have to clean it quickly, otherwise your friends also get into their traps because of you. This is the way SPAM posts spread all over the world.

So,
1. If your friend posts anything like the spam post(not sure yet),
then click the play button (if you are interested to know what is it).

2. If it is playing then no problem(but make sure, it doesn't request you to download any unknown plugin to play that video. If it ask your to download Adobe Flash then go to the official website of adobe with the help of Google or any other search engine to download it. Don't download it from unofficial websites.).

3.If it is not playing then it is a picture with play button

Don't click the link attached that photos(18+,Funny,Crazy photos or videos). Feel free to report that post as spam to the Facebook. They will remove it, if it is true.

4. By mistakenly, if you have clicked that link then, don't do the tasks it request you to do.Immediately close the browser. Then re-open it, then clear the history and other data of your browser.

Note: There are some spam post making system, which doesn't request you to do any tasks. It simply spread to you friends;wall once that link is click. (i hope they are not surviving now)

5. Accidentally, you have done the tasks, it requested then, Immediately close the browser. Then re-open it, then clear the history and other data of your browser. Then go to Facebook and check the activity log of it for suspicious activities.

6.Unfortunately , your account is affected with that spam post making engine then, Immediately close the browser. Then re-open it, then clear the history and other data of your browser. Then go to Facebook and check the activity log of it for suspicious activities. There will be more spam posts posted on your friends' wall and walls of groups you have joined. Clean them immediately. and warn your friends about this spam posts.

Free Advice: Don't do the mistake again. Please don't hesitate to report the spam posts as spam to Facebook.( you can find enough tutorial from YouTube, if you don't know how to report that post as spam. It is not a big deal. You can find the option to report it, from the area you use to delete a normal post.) Please don't share spam links with your friends.

New Facebook Spam Post: She Did It In Public After Getting Drunk

This is the new spam post recently identified. This is clearly a spam post, you can identify it very easily by looking the process or steps appear on your screen after clicking the link.

http://j.mp/15VCTYM is the link shown in the description of the spam post.

http://j.mp/15VCTYM is a redirecting link checked by infortecpro.blogspot.com

First of all it redirect us to Microsoft Translation Website (Bing Translator).

http://www.microsofttranslator.com/bv.aspx?Magnetic=160943708&from=&to=en&a=http://tinyurl.com/lahslqd is the first interface you will see when you browse that link. It is checked by infortecpro.blogspot.com

It takes less than 10 seconds to do some unknown process there. After that it will redirect us to  Indian blogger website where you can find something like shown in the following picture.

From my experience: It is requesting us to verify our age by copying the URL from the address bar of the window, appears when we click on the "Click Here And Get your Activation Code" button. After copying the URL from that address bar, we have to paste it on the text field below. Then we have to click on Activate button. Then it will show some animation(fake).

It should do one thing from the following lists:
1: It will show errors
2: It will post the same picture on your Facebook wall, and tag your friends
3: It will request you to fill some online surveys

Result of Testing 1: 28/07/2013  17:05
Currently: I got the error(1)
"Invalid Activation Code. Please Try Again. (Follow All the Steps)"
Please stay with us(Like our Facebook Fan page) to know more about it.

Currently we are marking this activity and that post as SPAM, and FAKE.

Threat Level:
Low (So No Need to Worry Much) // Accoring to the latest testing, Threat Level is High. It is tested by infortecpro.blogspot.com

Wherever you see the spam posts, please don't hesitate to report it as SPAM.

Result of Testing 2: 28/07/2013  17:39
It is a High level threat. Please don't click on the Link. I got the error first time, when i am testing it. because, i tested in Private browsing mode of my browser, and i didn't login to my original Facebook account and i login to my fake account where i have 0 friends.

Today i have learnt something new. We can't fully test the spam post to get to know the level of threat with 0 friends having Facebook accounts.

This is the  Result of the Testing:
I login to my original facebook account, then i followed the steps as shown in that website. but this time i show a new window with the following message (I think, it is a warning from Facebook).

Success <br /><b style="color:red">SECURITY WARNING:
Please treat the URL above as you would your
password and do not share it with anyone.
</b><script type="text/javascript">
setTimeout(function()
{window.history.replaceState
 && window.history.replaceState({},
 "", "blank.html#_=_");},500);</script>

"Success
SECURITY WARNING: Please treat the URL above as you would your password and do not share it with anyone."

We will see something like this after we paste the URL, and clicked on Activate button

(Click on the picture to see the image in its real size)

Here, again it will show some precessing animation (but it displaying your name and the profile picture, taken from your Facebook account). I think, this is the stage, it post that picture with that link in its description on your friends' wall and groups you have joined.

This is little bit advanced than the spam post, we have identified previously.

Because, that spam post didn't post that post on  the groups' wall, we have joined but this spam post, is posting the spam post on groups' wall, we have joined. For a good time Facebook system helped me by  immediately logout/closed the account from access.

After couple of seconds or may be after couple of minutes it is automatically taken me to another website, where it told me to do some tasks like filling the survey or entering the telephone no to receive ringtones, to watch that fake video. After that i got big surprise when i login to my Facebook account back.

http://diditinpublicvi0.blogspot.in is SPAM
Facebook told me to clean the activity log of my account. So i went to see the activity log to know what was happened. Surprise!!!!!!! This Spam post was posted the same photo with the spam system link in its description, on more than 15 friends' wall and some of the groups' wall. Thank you Facebook for limiting its activity. otherwise i have to spent more time to cleanup my friend's wall.

Special Feature:
It posts not only in Friends' wall.
It posts in Groups we have joined

http://addfollow.uni.me/ is a the website address where it ends(last website of this spam post posting process).

Is your installed antivirus program functioning well?

Check your installed Antivirus program:

Would you like to check/test your installed antivirus program to confirm it is  functioning well?
If you say Yes, then you don't need to do big things or download anything like, purposely downloading virus infected files and scanning them with your antivirus program (this way also possible. but it is very risk).

Just follow the following steps:

1. Open Notepad
2. Copy and Paste the following text(marked in light blue color):

X5O!P%@AP[4\PZX54(P^)7CC)7}$EICAR-STANDARD-ANTIVIRUS-TEST-FILE!$H+H*

3. Save it as "Virus.exe"

If you have installed powerful antivirus programs (which has something like real time scanner) like Avast
Free Antivirus program then it will detect it in less than 3 seconds. If you didn't install a antivirus program
for your computer which has something like real time scanning then right click on the "Virus.exe" file (find the file, in the location where you have saved it) and select Scan. It should identify it as virus. If not, better change your antivirus.

If your installed antivirus has detected that file as virus then you can ensure that it is functioning.

Why you should not set your picture as Facebook profile picture?

Recently, Facebook has introduced many privacy settings to protect our Facebook account from hackers or unknown people. Many people have set "Friends" for profile photo's privacy setting, and they are still thinking that they are safe, and others can't see the full size picture of our profile picture, if they are not friend of mine. But, time has changed every thing..........

Now, we can get the full size picture of their profile picture even though we are not friend of them. Facebook's logic fails. Facebook needs to find another way to protect the profile picture. Please share this news with others to alert them, to change their profile picture with something else.

You may ask me, How to get the full size picture of others profile pictures?
It is simple, you have to change the picture size values in the image URL of the profile picture.

Did you get what i am saying? No!! Then follow the following steps:

  • Browse Facebook.com
  • Login to it (Login is not necessary, if you know the link of someone's profile)
  • Then open the profile which profile picture is not enlarged.
  • Then copy the locked Image URL(Right click on the image, and select 'Copy Image URL/Location').
  • Paste it in Notepad or Address bar
  • Now you will get the URL like this(Similar to this).

  • Then just remove the s160*160 part in the link or modify the link s160*160 to s720*720. (Marked in Red color) Best option is changing the value as s720*720
  • Then open the URL using browser. Now you will see the full size of the locked profile picture in Facebook.
  • That's it. It is very easy to see the locked profile picture in Facebook.
If you see any error messages then Sorry,Facebook might have changed the setting or disabled it.

You may ask me, why we should not set our original picture as Facebook profile picture?
If you set your original picture as your profile picture then no problem (if the above method is not working). But if the above method is still working then your enemies or 3rd party people (Hackers/ Cheaters/ Fake account creators etc) may take your full size HD quality picture and do illegal works like morphing etc.  So please don't set your picture as profile picture until Facebook fixes this problem or brings new solution.
